    Shaker Box Card ProjectMaterials:
    Basic Shaker Box –
    Card – 18 cm x 19.5 cm (shaker box)
    Chipboard – 0.5 cm x 8.5 cm x 8 strips (I used 2mm thick chipboard – you will need extra if
    not thickness)
    Acetate – 8.5 cm x 8.5 cm
    Card – 8.5 cm x 8.5 cm
Image to go inside the shaker box (the window is 7 cm x 7 cm)
Either beads, sequins, etc to go inside the shaker box (nothing too fine)
Template Clcik to download the template shaker box template.pdf
    Card – 21 cm x 14.7 cm
It is up to you how you wish to decorate the main card.
Step 1 Take the card 8.5 cm x 8.5 cm and decorate the background as you like – you will only see a window of 7 cm x 7 cm of this background.

Step 2 Trace the template on to the card (18 cm x 19.5 cm and cut out (including the window part).
Step 3 Turn the card over, so that the right side is facing down. Take your glue and place glue
around the inside of the window.
Step 4 Place the acetate on to the card.

Step 5 Take one piece of chipboard and place glue on to the back of it. Then place the chipboard on
the edge close to the scored line of the window part – use the photo as a guide for placement. Do the same for the other 3 sides until the square is completed.

Step 6 Do another layer of chipboard following step 4. This is so that if you are using beads, that
they don’t get stuck. (NOTE - if you are not using 2mm thick chipboard – do another layer).

Step 7 Place the beads, sequins etc that want inside the chipboard area – careful that you don’t spill
    the contents.
Step 8 Very carefully place glue over the chipboard pieces and then take the decorated card (8.5 cm
x 8.5 cm) and place it face down on to the chipboard.

Very carefully turn it over to make sure that the placement of the decorated card is okay. If not, as you have used glue, you should be able to adjust accordingly.
Step 9 Now to fold the flaps over – put glue on to the 7.5 cm flaps and fold over, then put glue on
the 7.7 cm flaps and fold over.

Step 10 Your basic shaker box is now complete.

This can now be glued to a decorated card base.

Great project Kerry, love it, how do you keep that acetate so clean though, mine got very messy, think it's all about the nozzle on the glue somehow.

Mandy with regards to the glue - I had an old kindy glitz bottle (small one), I cleaned it out and put the glue in that. I find that the nozzle is really great - the glue doesn't come out in clumps. Hope that helps.

You could use double sided tape, but I found that it lifted in places.
