• CANDY CANES – Three projects by Kerry


    Below you will see the instructions to make these three great Christmas items.

















    Candy Cane Sleigh

    4 x Candy Canes
    Ribbon


    1. Tape 4 Candy Canes together with sticky tape.
    2. Wrap ribbon (tie in a bow) around the taped Candy Canes in two areas – as per photo.








    Mouse


    Body - Card 12 cm x 8.5 cm
    Body - Patterned Paper 12 cm x 8.5 cm (optional)
    Outer Ears - Card or Thick Patterned Paper 11.5 cm x 5 cm
    Inner Ears – Card or Patterned Paper 7cm x 4 cm
    Small amount of pink card for a nose
    Googly Eyes x 2







    Body - Card 12 cm x 8.5 cm
    Body - Patterned Paper 12 cm x 8.5 cm (optional)
    Outer Ears - Card or Thick Patterned Paper 11.5 cm x 5 cm
    Inner Ears – Card or Patterned Paper 7cm x 4 cm
    Small amount of pink card for a nose
    Googly Eyes x 2

    1. Trace the template of the main body on to the card 12 cm x 8.5 cm and cut out.
    2. Optional step – if you would like to use patterned paper as a layer for the body, trace the template on to the patterned paper (12 cm x 8.5 cm) and cut out. Glue the patterned paper to the card.
    3. Cut the slits out on the main body shape – if you need to make them a little bit bigger, do so.
    4. Trace the outer ears and inner ears on to the appropriate card or thick patterned paper and cut out.
    5. Thread the outer ears through the ear slots.
    6. Glue the inner ears on to the outer ears.
    7. Glue the eyes on to the body.
    8. Cut out a triangle shape for the nose and glue on.
    9. Take the candy cane and thread it through the bottom slots and place the end of the Candy Cane behind where the Outer Ears are.

    Candy Cane
    Card for the poem – 2 ½” x 2 1/2”
    Poem


    1. Using the template as a guide, mark out where you need to score (dotted lines) and cut (solid lines).
    2. Glue the Patterned Paper on to the front of the card and decorate as desired.
    3. Print out the poem on to card and cut it out and glue it to the inside of the card.
    4. Thread the Candy Cane through the slit.


    Poem:
    Look at the Candy Cane,
    What do you see?
    Stripes that are red
    Like the blood shed for me.
    White is for my Saviour
    Who’s sinless and pure!
    “J” is for Jesus,
    My Lord that’s for sure!
    Turn it around,
    And a staff you will see.
    Jesus, my Shepherd,
    Was born for Me!
