Another hot day ehre too Wendy, it's fun doing housework in this heat...........NOT. I did a bit of quilting yesterday, mainly trying to get my swap done. Nearly finished it and I have to say, I'm really getting into sewing patchwork again.

I should be doing book work too, just don't feel like it, maybe tomorrow..............or the next day.............or even the day after that

Sounds like things are moving on with you Tina, are you still getting work in or has it gone a bit quiet after Christmas?

    Happy New Year to everyone...

We arrived home yesterday afternoon. Had a great time away ...with a few unexpected things thrown in for good measure. On they way down, we hit a flock of Galahs (not happy) and ended up with a broken antennae. During our time at Howlong - we visited Beechworth, Myrtleford, Bright on Boxing Day. I think we went to other places, but can't remember the places off the top of my head. New Year's Day we travelled to my sister's place at Epsom...it was great to catch up with her and her family. On the Monday before we left to go back to Howlong, we met up with Wendy and her family. It was great to catch up and have a chat. I'm amazed at the photos that Wendy took of Emma, they looked great. On the way home we went through Holbrook (where the submarine is), Gundagai (looked at the Dog on a Tuckerbox),

Didn't do much craft shopping, as most places we went by were closed. Managed to do a few stitched pieces, crocheted a few items - other than that just relaxed.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Good to see you back, Kerry, sounds like a good time was had by all....except for the galahs, they really can be stupid birds hey??

Much cooler here this week, which is great cos it means I can get back into the garden this weekend and try to rescue my poor plants, plus dig over the ground ready for new plants in Autumn...........not too early is it?? We went to IKEA yesterday, which was fun, not been there for ages so had a bit of a buy up session........all stuff I absolutely needed of course. Then, had a quick trip to Officeworks to collect shelving, unfortunately, they only had one of the style we wanted, so have to wait until Friday to get the rest.

Pleased to hear it has cooled off a little down there Mandy, still hot and humid here and today we have smoke from the forest fires to make it a little more unpleasant.Your shopping expedition sounds good. I love Ikea. We tried a bit of gardening yesterday and got the hedges finished but too hot to mow so maybe tomorrow. Our usual early start this morning so fading fast now. Bit of housework and a bit of craft and off now to catch up on a bit of instruction writing until Ron comes home. Tells me he is getting an early mark because he worked so hard, I'd like to see that
    Enjoy your day everyone

We enjoyed the last sleep-in of DH's holidays this morning. He goes back to work on Monday, so life gets back into full swing then.
We took the kids to the Melbourne Zoo yesterday. Had told them on Tuesday night that we had a surprise for them, but they would have to wait till Thursday morning to find out what it was. They were making lists, trying to guess what the surprise was, and the list included a dog, another cat, DS games.... but of course none of those guesses were right!
Thursday morning we got up early and organised, i had packed a picnic lunch, and we caught the 8.49am train to Melbourne. The train arrived in Melbourne at 10.44, and we then went across to another platform and caught the 11.07 train which took us to the station across the road from the Zoo. Went in, started checking out the exhibits, had a lovely time, and sat on LAWN for a picnic lunch.. I really couldn't figure out all these ppl sitting on blankets on the lawns... green, non-prickly lawn is something we've not sat on for years so we got right in touch with nature
We left the Zoo just on 4pm, caught the 4.05 train from the Zoo back to central Melbourne, then went and got a coffee and something to eat and waited for the 5.00pm train back to Bendigo. Almost ended up on the wrong train - the sign on the platform said it was a Bendigo train, so we hopped in and got comfy ready for the ride home... then they changed the plans of the trains, and it seems that one was going to Geelong! So, quick exit, onto the other train... which didn't leave Southern Cross Station until 5.20pm. It was so nice to just sit and relax on the train ride home... sure beats driving home after 5 hours walking around the zoo. And I think I've converted DH to a love of public transport for future trips to Melbourne too!

Sounds like a great day out Wendy What a wonderful surprise for the kids. Sounds like you almost had a trip to Geelong as an added extra. Can't beat public transport in the city. Ours is getting better now with new busways going up everywhere. Makes life so much easier not having to worry about parking etc.
Another hot day in Brissy so not a lot happening except the grocery shopping.

Sounds like an awesome day Wendy.

Kids have just finished week 1 of beach swimming lessons, 1 more week to go. I am over them & so are the kids but it has to be done. Its been a real confidence booster for DS which is great. He swam over a stingray today apparently & didnt even see it. The teacher was telling him he was shocked to hear it (so was I!!!)

Hope everyone is well & keeping cool

That does sound like a brilliant day, Wendy, and good for you for taking public transport....we're so near the train station that you'd think we'd do it more often. Everytime we go anywhere, its always on the way to somewhere else or the train doesn't go there. I remember when we got the train from Ballarat when visiting Sovereign Hill a few years back. The train was so quick and it was the first time I'd been on a double decker train, very neat. I love the zoo, we had a 2 for 1 deal off of the cornflakes packets before Christmas, ended on the 31st December and we didn't have time to use them. Still now we have to book online for the Pandas, so better to book the entry tickets at the same time. I'm waiting until the kids go back to school and we get a nice cool day (yeah right, like thats going to happen in January)

Got all my new shelves yesterday, so later this morning its off to have a turn out and sort out of the cards and reorganize them. Badly needs it, the quantities we hold keep going up and I've got stuff still packed in boxes, not good for picking and packing. So, hopefully, by Monday, everything will be straight and tidy.

I'm also hoping to catch up on a few challenges, especially since I unearthed an old box of photos, perfect for scrapbooking......it's not like I'm short on paper is it?? We had a delivery of beautiful new papers this week, some have glitter and they are all great themes, I just need to take pictures of them and load them onto the shop.

Sounds like fun with he beach swimming, Tina, I like swimming in the sea, especially if its warm. Its a nice feeling bobbing up and down.....although usually ends with me getting sunburnt. We've had a few sharks swimming close to the beaches this year, so kind of puts you off. Last time I swam at the beach was when Mum & Dad were over last year, so I should really get my butt in gear and make a point of going next week............depending on the weather.

What's everyone else up to this weekend??

New Product Training day for me tomorrow.. Kaszazz is releasing the January New Products..... so a full day of crafting with 10 other ladies for me. Must book Mum to look after the kids.. Steve's roster has let me down and he will be busy.
Other than that enjoying some quite time this week, and heading off to Melbourne sometime later in the week. The kids were given a family pass to Werribee Zoo for Christmas, and i have found on old school friend so we will go out to dinner with him and his G/F while we are there. Hopefully we will get some shopping time and some relax time.. Steve in particular needs the second.. we will stay with his parents... but hopefully still relax!
