    That sounds like a good plan, Wendy, too often family just tend to dump on you.......mine doesn't so much, could be because I'm 10,000 miles away ROFL. Kind of hard to drop the kids off for a day....knwoing my luck, they will send them all over for a month, how would I cope with that?? Me time is really important when your working, running the house, lookign after the family, it all becomes so stressful and not fun at all. Life should be about ahving some fun at least.

    I'm hoping for a bit of an eaiser day order wise for today, tomorrow and Friday will be busy, so I'd like to get on top of the new stuff and put it all on the shop plus sort out my bank and accounts (which never seem to really end) My plan of getting the accounts done on a monthly basis has failed miserably two months into the new financial year and I'm two months behind How's that for consistency?

    Raining here again today, Monday and Tuesday were beautiful days, no heating, no colling and just perfect if you were able to stop and go outside.

    I'm so glad to have my computer again... have been in hospital since Tuesday afternoon! I had my appendix removed yesterday afternoon and expect to be sent home later today - just love the way they rush you through these days. So I got a day off work without even trying lol - don't know how appreciative the boss was when I rang him yesterday morning to tell him he was going to be doing the wages though!

    I just read on FB Wendy, you poor thing, hope you are up and at 'em real soon, appendix are a pretty useless organ aren't they? Do you weigh any less without them cos they can have mine too.............actually, I can think of a few things they could take whilst in there that have never been used or hardly used {{{huggsss}}

    I'm soooo busy today and am pretty cheesed off, we got an email from IKEA yesterday to say our second set of sofa covers were in for the large sofa.............now that would ahve been nice, a trip to IKEA, but I have so much to do that I can't go, so Ian has gone alone. Life is so unfair sometimes, maybe I should have insisted that he stay here and do all the work and I run off for the day and do whatever?? Maybe I'll just pay myself double this month and see how well that goes down??

    That was a pretty drastic way to get some ME time WendyHope you are feeling better and back at home really soon. After spending a large part of the day at the hospital I can only say it s a good place to be out of. Take care and rest up.
    That is just not fair Mandy but I am sure Ian didn't really enjoy himself.
    All I can say tonight is thank goodness today is over and roll on Friday.

    Well they didn't want me in the hospital for very long - I was discharged mid-afternoon, barely 24 hours after my operation! I'm in quite a bit of pain but will get through it and surely tomorrow has to be just a little better. A friend is coming over in the morning to take the girls to school as I can't drive for a couple of days, and then our friend is going to stay and make sure I rest all day we'll probably end up with cardmaking stuff on the dining table!

    That sure was quick, Wendy, didn't they like you or something? Seriously, hope you are feeling better today, day it easy, be gentle with yourself and take the help when it's offered {{{Gentle little huggies}}}

    Its raining, thundering, cold and miserable here today, we've already had one power outage, luckily (or unluckily) it hasn't affected my work, although the weekend looks like it's going to be spent inside creating....what a shame

    We're still no further on this wheely table/desk thing, although that was one reason why I wanted to go back to IKEA, they ahd a big desk in there with wheels on it, it was quite expensive though, so thought I'd check out how it was made next time. Coulld be a good weekend for moving things around at work, it certainly needs it.

    Our Royal Show started today and one of my friends has gone alone....she'll be soaked by the time they get home, hope she finds a few dry sheds to stand in.

    I had a friend come and take the kids to school, do the washing and generally tidy the house yesterday, and once she had done that stuff, we sat at the kitchen table and made cards. I made a golliwog card for my nephew's birthday and also sat and coloured a few images from our stamped image swaps last year. I'll be doing more of that today - might as well use the time creatively since I can't do much else. I have a lovely head-spin happening from the pain medication just now and have told the kids it's up to them whether they get dressed or not today - I am staying in my pj's because I don't have any clothes that are loose enough around my tummy. Monday will be interesting, as I have to go to work and get caught up so i can still take holidays from the 20th! My boss got his daughter to come in and do the wages while I was in hospital so I need to double check and make sure that it's all been done correctly.
    It's pouring rain here - we have a swimming pool effect happening in the back yard - and it's tipped to continue like this all weekend. Some storms forecast for later in the day I think.
    Hope everyone has a great weekend. We're postponing fathers' day by a week at our place - I don't feel at all up to going out to get DH a present, and I don't think I'll feel like pampering him tomorrow either!

    Pleased to hear you are home Wendy. Remember to take it easy and allow yourself to be looked after for a while yet.
    Hope everyone is safe in the southern states after hearing of the weather conditions, storms and flooding etc. Take care
    We have had a little rain overnight but only a few millimetres.
    Our day yesterday was a mix of everything. We had a trip to Bunnings for timber, a few hours carpentry marking and cuttting out my new wheelie cupboard, a complete stripout of my laundry and a real good cleanout, started to head to the garden and it rained so HAD to spend a couple of hours in the craft room instead (damn lol) and also caught up on some shows we had taped through the week.
    Not sure what today will bring, it is all a mystery lol. Bit rainy and overcast
    Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads.

    My day was a bit like your's Kaye, a bit of everything, we went shopping for curtains and poles, plus Ian just had to pop into Dick Smiths to look at cameras.............he thinks Christmas is coming early this year Then it was back home to do a bit of baking and tidying up. It rained and howled with wind all day, so a good day to be inside. Didn't get an awful lot of crafting done, just a bit of finishing off and sorting out.

    Today, it was a tidy up of the car port, trying to get the old sofa and chairs into the trailer was very good fun........NOT Still, all done now, I took all the soft filling out of the cushions and now have plastic bags full of of the stuff. Cushions will never be short at my house I'm thinking. Just doing a bit of shop tidying up before starting again on the craft unfinished projects and more importantly starting Mums birthday card and present. Might even get around to booking my flight back for Christmas.

    Sounds like a nice weekend, Mandy it is good to do a few different things for a change isn't it. Was really keen to get into the garden today but we have the rain. Not nearly as bad as yours, sounds really awful down there. Had another mixed sort of day today. Finished off a set of cards and started my swaps, baked some biscuits and a cake and some muffins after being really embarrassed when we had visitors and I never had a crumb in the cake tins. Can't craft and bake as well Made a new chicken rissole recipe for dinner tonight so interested to see what it is like. Ron has made excellent progress with my new cupboard, although today the mind was willing but the body couldn't keep up the pace. Locked him in the house for the rest of the day

    Maybe I should try that locking up business, Kaye, might get a few things done around here We keep talking and talking about what we want to do, and it gets pushed further and further back. I did book my flight to the UK on Sunday for Christmas, so thats good. Mum and Dad are really excited as are the kids, still have to speak to my sister, one of us is always busy or working whenever I ring. Hopefully, I'll get thru later this week. I'd like to go on a few trips whilst I'm there, although that could be difficult with Mums breathing and Dads moaning, between the two of of them, think I'll have my work cut out.

    It's Mum's 75th birthday this month and I still haven't made a start on her card or present yet. I came up with an idea inpsired by a scrapbook papge sent to me by Kaye, so that is a start isn't it??

    My baking session continued yesterday with a bit of icecream making. First time I'd got the ice cream maker out this year and it worked really well.....unlike the juicer, which died a sudden and fatal death about a month ago. My dustbin gets full sometimes and not with proper rubbish, I fill it up with all these broken down devices. I think maybe manual mixing, chopping and juicing is the way to go..........uses more energy and never breaks down Anyhow, Ian went to the shops and bought back chips, chocolate and I made ice cream, so it's back to the skipping rope and trampoline for me this week.

    Yesterday at work was a really good day, did heaps of stuff and packed loads of orders and still finished at 3.30pm ready to do boring accounts stuff. I also really enjoyed my day which was good, probably because the rain ahd stopped for the day and it was sunny, much like today is. It's so cold though, 7.5deg when I went out with the cat. We have a little routien now, I do one set of exercises, then we go out and she trots around the garden and I do a bit of weeding. Kind of a fun way to start the day, espcially when it's sunny.

    Phew, what a weekend that was, on Saturday we decided to move my room around a bit to make it easier to store more stuff. So, the big old pine desk was removed (now in my craft room ) and we moved the packing bench in front of the airconditioner/heater (not sure thats a good idea for teh winter, I kind of dislike having hot air blown in my face, will be good for summer though) This left such a lot fo mess everywhere I couldn't face it until last nigth...had to do it so I could work today. Well, I'm now have my keyboard perched temporarily on a fold up plastic table and the laptop is on a higher cabinet.....this is only temporary, but already it's giving me neck ache and my eyes ain't what they sued to be. Still, I now have heaps more room, we just need to go get at least three more shelves and more brackets for the existing shelving and it will all be perfect (well, nearly, until the enxt load of new products arrive) I'm thinking now though, that I should have spent the time sorting out the stuff for the bargain bin prior to the move around, it wold ahve made it a whole lot easier.

    Then, yesterday, the new M20 through the North opened, so we went along to the ceremonies, had an ice cream a nice walk in the sun, picked up a neat goody bag filled with brochures (more recycling fodder) and sorted out our new routes into the City. This new road will be brilliant as it's going to cut down journey time not only to the City but to the beach too and it's only a few K's away for us.

    Today I thought I would prove that I do more around here than just craft lol and started to do a bit of a spring clean. Before I began I made a date loaf and some cupcakes and made up some chicken rissoles for the freezer and put an Italian sausage, tomato and onion casserole in the slow cooker and had a quick trip up the street for a forgotten ingredient. Had a good clean out in the bathroom and carried on into the computer room/ library. Half way through Ron decided that my new cupboard was ready to come up from the workshop and would be a good idea to do it before the promised rain arrives so after much heaving and pushing the cupboard is in place, wel not really , think it will look better where the computer is so disconnect the computer and move the desk, then have to move the power points and also some of the frames on the wall and now we can't see the fire engine collection in the end cupboard so we empty out 2 cupboards and move the playing card collection to where the fire engine collection is., then put the new cupboard where the computer desk was. So as it stands now I have a huge mess in the computer room, a huge mess in the craft room but the bathroom looks pretty good. Feel like I have worked myself to a standstill and achieved nothing. My new cupboard is great and we do have a nice dinner waiting so all is not lost.
    I have said on many occasions today and I think Ron is really sick of hearing it, it is so much easier just to go out into my room and craft.
    So what has everybody else been up to?
