Thanks Merry, wish we could get more people to join this sewing swap, I know I'm not the quickest, there has to be more people out there who sew and want to swap with us.
I can't wait to get started on this one as the owls I have seen are so cute. We have a round robin again as we have odd people....ooops an odd number people doing this swap. So who you send to is not who you receive from. The swap is one small felt owl....so 10cm or less. To reach your swap partner by the 31st October. Remember to take a photo so you can share (October Swap Album in Gallery) with everyone once you know your partner has received the swap item.

Hi Wendy - your little owl went off today. Sorry i'm late. Inspiration was a little tardy and I am fussy. Never can make and send something I don't want to keep.

Oh I can't wait Annette. I have just this moment finished mine to Mandy. It is so cute and gives me a smile. The plan is to mail him off to you tomorrow Mandy. I just hope he will hop in the envelope....I do wish he would stay.Sorry I am late too. I do this every sewing swap. Leave it to the last moment as for some reason I think it may take time and unpicking but every time I really enjoy the experience and wonder why I don't sew more often.

Oh my I am so sorry to my swap partner, I completely forgot about this sewing swap. Sorry, sorry sorry Annette, I promise I will get right onto it tonight. I had my sewing machine out this week too as I was making a pet bed sleeping bag for the cat rescue charity.

oops...you just reminded me that this little owl is sitting my craft desk. Will try really hard to get him in the mail box tomorrow Mandy.
Hi Annette, your amazing owl arrived on Friday. Thank you so much. I love how you added the tape measure to it and that it is your own pattern. Do you have a photo to share?
When we received it I showed my daughter who continued to pull the tape measure out thinking it would retract back into the container. But no. So she pulled it a little more and still would not go in. She quickly gave it back to me apologising for breaking it within five minutes of opening the parcel. I was not impressed by her either.... Well then she went out to do a chore and I tried to fix it to no avail. Then was telling hubby what had happened and showing him and I accidentally discovered the little button on the owls tummy that is needed to push to get the tape measure in. So we have a happy household again. lol.
Glad you liked it Merry. I have managed to damage my camera so can't share the photos, would you mind posting for me? Sorry i didn't tell you about the button, I thought the retractable tape measures were quite common now and I would be being condescending in telling you. I'm thinking of turning my pattern into a pdf to sell on Etsy as I thought it came out quite well. I feel for your daughter though, how horrible to break your Mum's new toy when she hasn't even played with it yet. I'm glad it turned out well in the end.

Merry, you're cute little owl arrived today, thank you, you chose well with the colours. I liked seeing yours as it made me more confident of mine now, so I'll send it off tomorrow - why am I so late with everything??
