I'm not sure, Cathy, although I think that if you stay logged in, it does appear that if you log in and click whats new, then post or look at a topic and sty logged in for a while, the whats new does change as it assumes that you've seen the whats new and it's not new anymore. I'm pretty certain Ian will have a more logical explanation - he tends to look at things and think like the program![]()

it seems to make the assumption that when I have visited just to see if there are any recent posts, when I leave, I have read them all, or that when clicking on the 'what's new' I am only interested in what has happened since my last visit - why can't the 'what's new' display all threads for the last 2 days (or whatever timeframe) whether I have read them or not? Not everyone can visit every day and not everyone can read all the threads on one visit
