    Default Advice Re Glue

    Hello everyone,
I am sorry if I am doubling up but I got a strange message when I posted this before so I am trying again so if two messages come up I am sorry. I bought a couple die kits (I think thats what theyre called) They are sheets with the same image on them that you can cut out and assemble to get a 3D effect. It is too fragile for using double sided foam tape and was wondering if someone could reccommend an appropriate glue for using with these
    Thanks
    Alex
    Have a great day!

Hi Alex, I call this type of thing either 3D Paper Tole or Decoupage. My Mum put me on to Selley's Glass Silicone Sealant which I buy from Big W. There is a photo here to show what the tube looks like. I squeeze out a small daub and scrape it off the tube pick it up with a toothpick to then put on the back of the image where I like. I like the Silicone glue as I can put larger amounts in the centre and on the edge smaller amounts so that all the layers can be shaped. I have tried other brands of Silicone Glue but they have had an over powering smell. Mandy at Blue Edge has a Helmar 3D Scrap Dots Adhesive...but none in stock at the moment . Link here.

We do have tubes of silicone here which are perfect for paper toles, I usually use the small foam pads as they are less smelly, although silicone is excellent as it means you can move it around. Basically, anything which makes the images slightly higher is the best thing. You'll get addicted to these Alex, they give a lovely effect when finished. Another trick is to use a bit of dimensional magic on the last layer so it looks nice and shiny.
